Dr. Bessler is renowned for his commitment to world-class, holistic care and is sought after by patients with complex medical conditions, often referred by fellow physicians who trust his exceptional skill and compassionate approach. Dr. Bessler received his medicaldegree from New York University School of Medicine, followed by hisresidency in general surgery and fellowship in surgical endoscopy at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. Prior to joining Northwell in 2024, Dr. Bessler served as Professor of Surgery and Division Chief of Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center.

Dr. Bessler is at the forefront of innovation in bariatrics and has worked to make surgery safer and less painful for patients throughout his career.
